Many Tree Farmers include wildlife, whether for hunting or just the enjoyment of seeing it on their property, as one of their management goals for their woods. The American Tree Farm System has joined with the Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) to provide webinars related to managing for quality white tailed deer populations in your woods. Together we are providing Tree Farmer with the tools they need to effectively manage their woods for a multitude of benefits, including wildlife.

The Timber Management for Quality White Tail Deer webinar was held on November 10, 2011 The powerpoint presentation slides are now available. Watch the webinar below.
Timber management can produce income for the landowner; however, it can also be the major driver of habitat quality for wildlife throughout the property. This presentation will discuss sustainable forest management as it relates to even and uneven-aged silvicultural techniques, as well as how managing hardwood and coniferous stands of trees may differ when considering a quality deer management program.
