Arkansas Historic Preservation Program (http://www.arkansaspreservation.org/) – provides assistance in identifying and protecting historic properties and other cultural sites in the state. This program is currently developing geographically-based databases for easier research of historic and cultural sites: http://www.arkansaspreservation.com/preservation-services/geographic-info-systems/default.aspx Arkansas Archeological Survey (http://www.uark.edu/campus-resources/archinfo/index.html) – eleven research stations throughout the state offer full-time archaeologists who can assist with protecting archeological sites. Arkansas History Commission (http://www.ark-ives.com/) – identifies, preserves, and makes accessible records (such as census records, military records, family histories, and various county, state and federal records) and other historical documents that can help you research your special sites.
