2016 Required Sample Update
On-the-ground inspections with an ATFS Inspector provide the greatest value to Tree Farmers enrolled in ATFS. To help ensure the credibility of ATFS, every year we ask state programs to complete a number of “required sample” inspections.
As of October 3, 57% of the national required sample has been completed.
- Congratulations to these states that have completed at least 50% of their 2016 required sample: Louisiana (100% complete!), Wyoming (100% complete!), Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Washington.
The remaining required sample inspections must be completed and submitted to the ATFS Database by December 9, 2016. If you have not been assigned a required inspection but want to help, offer to complete an “optional or scheduled” inspection for your state committee. There are many landowners enrolled in ATFS who have not received an inspection in 5 years or more, and we need your help to keep them engaged and enrolled in the program. Plus, by completing at least one inspection every two years, you can keep your status active.
