Arkansas Tree Farmer Conference

The Arkansas Tree Farm Committee hosted the Tree Farmer Conference with more than 55 landowners, natural resource managers and Tree Farm Committee members attending. Topics and speakers included: Tree Farm program update from Caroll Guffey, Jennifer Johnson and John Cook; 2014 Tree Farmer of the Year John L. McClellan; Selling Trees, Pete Prutzman, Kingwood Forestry; Wildlife Management, Jeff Taverner, Arkansas Game & Fish Commission; and Insects and Pests, Caroll Guffey, UA Cooperative Extension Service.
As can be seen in the pictures, one of the best activities of the Conference was the networking between and with landowners and forestry professionals.
Registration for the conference also provided a complimentary ticket to the In Woods Expo located about 20 miles from Benton where attendess could view the latest in logging equipment and supplies from forestry vendors.
The event was sponsored by Deltic Timber, Farm Credit Services of Western Arkansas, and Sears - North Little Rock.
