2019 Wyoming Tree Farmer of the Year
The
Mignery's are very fond and proud of the aspen, birch, willow & oak zones
on our property, where conifer encroachment had been crowding out the natural
forest diversity in Carson Draw. Their selective thinning of ponderosa
pine has enhanced these unique habitat zones. Wildlife of all kinds has
flourished with their management practices. Wildlife is very special to
them and the motivation for much that they do in life’s work and as a volunteer
for the Wyoming Game & Fish Department and the WY Tree Farm
Committee. They have offered three student Walks in the Forests on our
property and have an adult education forest walk planned for this coming
spring. Appreciation of the outdoors, forests and wildlife all go
hand and hand. They are fortunate to be able to offer and encourage youth
& adults these nature walks opportunities on our Tree Farm property…some
will be the Tree Farmers of tomorrow.
