Forested Flyways

In 1999, the first Forested Flyways conservation partnership was formed with Ducks Unlimited (DU) and International Paper to plan, develop, and implement "flagship" projects focusing on wetlands and waterfowl habitat in South Carolina, Texas and Mississippi.

Currently, Forested Flyways is seeking funding and developing partnerships to improve pine habitat for wildlife in the southeastern U.S. Initial focus states will include Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and South Carolina.

By connecting forest owners with existing technical and financial assistance programs, Forested Flyways improves wildlife habitat and water quality, while encouraging landowners to sustainably manage their forest land and develop strategies to resist the increasing pressures from urban sprawl and development. Forested Flyways operates in partnership with these organizations and others.
