 Become a Tree Farmer
We own land . . . at least 10 acres of forestland. We share concerns. We act responsibly. Together, we create a national community of 90,473 private owners who sustainably manage approximately 24 million acres of our nation's forestland. We are Certified Tree Farmers who pledge to respect our nation's natural resources and who are committed to more good forestry on more acres.
Become an Inspector
We are the more than 4,400 volunteer forester and natural resource professionals who volunteer as ATFS Tree Farm Inspectors. We are trained in the methods and guidelines of ATFS. We are strong supporters of ATFS . . . the eyes, the ears, and the hands of the program. We believe in the ATFS mission and values. You can put your expertise to work . . . VOLUNTEER to become an ATFS Certified Tree Farm Inspector.
Become a Supporter
For 66 years, ATFS has dedicated itself to working in partnership with private forest landowners to reach their goals of sustainable forestry, clean water and air, diverse wildlife habitats and community recreation activities.
Many national and international conservation organizations have recognized our efforts on privately owned forestland. We want to continue to do the good environmental and conservation work we've begun, but we cannot do it all by ourselves. We depend on foundation, corporate, government and local grants, corporate contributions and donations from individuals concerned about their environment for future generations.
Your tax deductible donation will further our work of teaching more landowners about sustainable forestry, reaching students and teachers to enhance their environmental education opportunities, improving the Atlantic Salmon habitat in Maine, addressing critical forest management issues to curtail forest fires, establishing riparian buffer and improving wildlife habitat.
